The Indian River Mosquito Control District extends its heartfelt congratulations to our Aerial
Supervisor, Daniel Long, for receiving the prestigious Sherrie Yarberry Award from the Florida
Mosquito Control Association. This honor recognizes his exceptional performance that has
significantly improved unit efficiency. 

This recognition is a testament to Daniel's outstanding performance and his unwavering commitment to enhancing operational efficiency within our District. His efforts have not only made a significant impact on our overall effectiveness but have also contributed to the safety and well-being of our community. Daniel's roots run deep in Indian River County, as he hails from a Pioneer Family that has long been dedicated to the area. For the past 11 years, he has tirelessly served our community in mosquito control, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility. His extensive experience, combined with his innovative approaches to mosquito management, showcases his dedication to protecting public health and improving quality of life for local residents. We are proud to have Daniel as part of our team and look forward to his continued contributions that elevate the standard of mosquito control in our area. His recognition is well-deserved, and we celebrate this milestone with him. 

 

The Florida Association of Special Districts awarded the Indian River Mosquito Control District the 2025 District of the year. The District has been proudly serving the Indian River community for 100 years.
